Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
Explore at your own pace. Choose when to share your details.
BetterYears.com, LLC (“BetterYears,” “we,” “us”) operates this website. This policy explains the information handled through our directory, matching tools, request forms, and related follow-up. It does not govern independent providers or external websites. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy provides additional information about care-related data.
1. Information we collect and why
| Interaction | Information | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Search and matching | City, ZIP code or state, care type, budget, and selected priorities. | Display and organize care options. |
| Quote and tour requests | Name, phone number, location, care type, budget, timing, selected provider, optional notes, and tour preferences. | Save your request and follow up about the information or visit you requested. |
| Optional call from John | Name, phone number, care and location details supplied with the request, and permission to call. | Arrange the free conversation you chose. |
| Listing claims and corrections | Contact information, affected provider, your stated role, and information about the requested update. | Review authority, investigate the issue, and maintain listings. |
| Request administration | Request identifier, request type, submission time, consent version, and follow-up status. | Process requests, avoid duplicate submissions, and keep appropriate records. |
| Site access and sign-in | Technical request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URLs, access time, and authentication information handled by our hosting and sign-in services. | Deliver the website, provide access, and protect against misuse. |
We receive information directly from you, through the technical operation of the site, and from public or provider-supplied business materials used in the directory. If you contact us, we may keep the details necessary to handle that conversation or request. We do not require payment-card details, a Social Security number, medical records, or insurance identifiers to use our forms.
2. Searching without submitting contact details
You can see care options without entering your name or phone number. Matching and filtering run in your browser against the directory. Search and matching choices appear in page URLs and can be retained in browser history, hosting logs, or links you share. Do not put private medical information or someone’s contact details into a search field.
The free-call step is optional. Selecting no does not submit a callback request. Selecting yes and continuing with your name and phone number sends a callback request to BetterYears. Contact details are submitted in the request body, not added to the results URL.
3. How requests and permissions work
Submitted quote, tour, callback, claim, and correction requests are saved in our hosted database for authorized BetterYears follow-up. We use them to respond, understand your stated preferences, administer the request, maintain accurate records, and address security or legal obligations.
The quote and tour forms ask permission for BetterYears to call about your request. After submission, a separate yes/no choice lets you request a free call specifically from John. A no answer does not erase the original request. You can ask us to stop calling or delete the request using the contact details below.
The current website does not automatically send form submissions to a care provider, enroll you in a text campaign, or authorize unrelated marketing. A request for a call is not consent to prerecorded promotional calls or unrestricted sharing of your contact details.
4. When information is disclosed
Authorized BetterYears personnel and service providers that operate hosting, storage, authentication, security, and request handling may process information needed for those functions. Our site currently uses Cloudflare hosting and database infrastructure and hosted ChatGPT sign-in. BetterYears does not receive your sign-in password through a custom login form.
We do not automatically distribute your request to listed communities or agencies. If you ask us to help connect you with a particular provider, we will explain the proposed disclosure and obtain any permission required before sharing. You can also contact providers directly without submitting a BetterYears request.
Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to meet a legal obligation, respond to valid legal process, protect people or the service, investigate misuse, or obtain professional advice. If the business is reorganized or transferred, information may transfer with it subject to applicable law and the protections and notice required for that transfer. A transfer does not remove your existing rights.
The current website does not sell submitted personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use care preferences to serve targeted advertising. Any material change to those practices would require an updated notice and any legally required choice or consent before the change takes effect.
5. Care-related and sensitive information
A memory-care selection, requested personal-care assistance, or a free-text note may reveal or suggest information about health or disability. Share only what is needed to explain your request. Avoid medical records, detailed diagnoses, government identifiers, financial-account information, or another person’s sensitive details without authority.
We use care-related information to provide the requested matching or assistance, not to make a diagnosis or insurance decision. This directory is not a medical-record system. Do not assume information submitted here is covered by the same rules as records held by your healthcare provider. See the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy for additional choices and disclosures.
6. Cookies, storage, and external links
To make browsing more useful, we remember the last city or state you searched for or viewed on a BetterYears listing within this browser session, for up to eight hours. We do not save care types or a list of visited providers in this browsing preference. If you have not chosen a location, coarse city/state information supplied by our hosting service may help order options. IP location can be inaccurate. Explicit searches take priority; Change and Reset controls let you change the location or turn off these suggestions for the session. We do not read browsing history from other websites. This feature does not store raw IP addresses or use precise GPS location.
External links include referral tags identifying BetterYears and the public page containing the link. These tags do not include your search terms, form responses, or contact details.
We use Google Analytics to understand visits to public pages. Analytics can use cookies and sends technical usage information to Google. Our implementation removes query strings from page URLs and referrers, excludes contact and request forms and account pages, and disables Google signals and advertising personalization. It does not intentionally send names, phone numbers, email addresses, or form answers. We do not load it when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Hosting, security, and authentication may use cookies or similar technical storage. The current BetterYears application does not install advertising pixels or third-party behavioral-advertising scripts. You can manage cookies, site storage, and history in your browser; blocking necessary storage may affect login or other functions.
Browser-level Do Not Track signals do not change the requested service. The current application does not engage in the sale or advertising sharing that Global Privacy Control is intended to opt out of. We will honor legally applicable opt-out preference signals if such processing is introduced.
External links and share actions can transmit information to the destination you choose. Shared URLs may contain search preferences. Provider websites and telephone services have their own privacy practices. Clearing browser history or site storage does not delete a request already submitted to BetterYears.
7. Retention and security
We retain submitted requests while needed to address the request, manage follow-up, preserve permissions and suppression choices, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. The application currently has no automatic deletion schedule. You may request deletion; where an exception requires retaining some information, we will explain it as required by law and limit further use.
Technical logs, backups, and authentication records can have different retention periods controlled by the relevant service. We use hosted access controls and limit application access to authorized users. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please tell us promptly if you believe your information has been accessed or submitted without permission.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete information you submitted, withdraw permission for future calls, or obtain information about its use and disclosure. Depending on your location and applicable law, you may also have rights to a portable copy, to limit sensitive-data use, to opt out of sale, advertising sharing or certain profiling, and to appeal a denied request.
Email [email protected] and identify your request as a privacy request. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or an authorized representative’s authority. Do not send government-ID documents unless a secure, necessary verification method has been explained. We will respond within applicable legal deadlines and explain any permitted extension or denial.
If a request is denied, you may ask for a review by contacting the same email address and identifying it as a privacy appeal. Where applicable, you may also contact your state attorney general or other competent privacy regulator. Exercising a privacy right will not result in unlawful discrimination. Deleting information needed for a pending callback or request may prevent us from completing it.
California residents may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of information collected, its sources, purposes and recipients, and to request correction or deletion, where the applicable law covers the processing. Other state rights may differ. This section does not claim that every state law applies to every visitor or transaction.
9. Children and people outside the United States
Our service is intended for adults 18 and older and focuses on care in the United States. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. Local protections may differ from those where you live. This policy does not waive mandatory rights that apply to you.
10. Updates and contact
We update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The date above identifies this version. Material changes will be communicated appropriately, and additional consent will be obtained when legally required.
